As the on-ramp to the marra ngarrgoo, marra goorri (Victorian Aboriginal Health, Medical and Wellbeing Research Accord) Accreditation Scheme, launching later this year, the Reflective Process supports organisations to:

  • Understand the six accreditation standards
  • Assess current policies, practices and governance arrangement
  • Begin building the foundations for culturally safe, community-centred research

This event was hosted by the Victorian Research Translation Centre Collaborative (VRTCC – consisting of MACH, Monash Partners Health Translation Network, Western Alliance) for their member organisations in partnership with VACCHO.

About the session
While the Accreditation Scheme is intended for use at the organisational level, the Reflective Process can also be applied by individual units, departments and teams seeking to strengthen their research practices. Designed for organisations committed to the aims, principles and actions of the Research Accord, this session provided an opportunity to learn more about the Reflective Process and ask questions about how it can support organisations to ensure research delivers genuine benefit to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities.
