Identifying Core Clinical/Procedural Skills for Australian Emergency Department Nurse Practitioner (ENP) Practice: A Sequential Mixed-Methods Study

This study aims to identify and validate the core clinical/ procedural skills required for safe and effective ENP practice in Australia. A sequential mixed-methods design will be used. First, an international scoping review will map existing evidence on essential ENP skills. Next, focus groups with Australian ENPs and key stakeholders will explore perceived foundational skills. Finally, an expert panel will be consulted to obtain consensus. Findings will inform recommendations for a future evidence-based ENP training framework.
