Health services are under increasing pressure to deliver equitable access to specialist care across distributed populations, while managing workforce constraints and rising demand. My project focuses on developing a partnership model that reframes specialist outreach from ad hoc, clinician-dependent activity into planned, governed and mutually beneficial partnerships between health services.
I aim to develop and embed a multi-domain evaluation framework that measures activity and outcomes across access and equity, workforce sustainability, system efficiency, governance and network performance. The result will be a practical, scalable approach to evaluating and improving cross-organisational specialist service partnerships, supporting better resource allocation, more accountable service delivery and more equitable access to care.
The MacHSR Future Leaders Fellowship would provide the methodological support, mentorship and protected time to develop our promising service model into a rigorous health services research program. It would strengthen my capability in embedded evaluation, implementation science and Learning Health System approaches, while supporting my development as a medical leader in clinical governance and service design. For RCH, the Fellowship would help build a scalable evaluation framework for specialist service partnerships, improving governance, accountability and decision-making across models of care to support equitable access and sustainable specialist care.
