Applications are now open for Round 6 of the Victorian Medical Research Acceleration Fund. Applications will be open until Tuesday 22 November 2022.
Launched by the Victorian Government in 2017, each year the Victorian Medical Research Acceleration Fund provides funding support to accelerate health and medical research and fast-track innovative projects from research to real-world impact.
Round 6 of the Victorian Medical Research Acceleration Fund includes $5 million in funding through two streams.
- Foundation Stream: offers $3 million to medical research projects that can deliver benefits to Victoria.
- The new Public Health and Health Inequalities Stream: $2 million to medical research projects addressing public health inequalities that affect vulnerable Victorians.
The Fund is complemented by the mRNA Victoria Research Acceleration Fund, a $2 million grant program to support and accelerate RNA-based therapeutics research.
In both streams, projects led by women or research teams comprised of at least 50% women will be prioritised to help address underrepresentation of women in health and medical research.
